MLB.com: Reds have two lefty pitchers in top 10; 1 righty in top 10

We all know there's no such thing as a pitching prospect, but perhaps when you have 3 pitching prospects, you actually have at least one pitching prospect.

Cody Reed - #7 LHP prospect across baseball
Amir Garrett #9 LHP prospect across baseball
Bob Steve #7 RHP prospect across baseball

Would love to see Reed, Garrett, Winker and both Stephensons be top 5 prospects at their position by the All-Star Break.

Then we just need to sprinkle in two OF and a SS (D.Perez?) we get this year to round out the future. Would've been even better if we could've gotten one or two of those OF from last month's trades.

Winker's one OF. Schebler could surprise. (TRF certainly thinks so.) Peraza might be the starting CF as early as this year. Jagielo might move to the OF too.

Lots of options there if you're into outfielders.

Peraza should be #2 on the 2B list (based on where MLB.com had him on previous lists). Some of that has to do with a number of future 2Bs still being listed at SS (e.g. Franklin Barreto, Ozzie Albies). Some of it has to do with Peraza having been an overrated prospect. Yet the biggest reason is 2B is the thinnest position in the minors. You've got Yoan Moncada, Peraza and then ??? Maybe Allen Hansen or Ian Happ (if you count him as a 2B) or Forrest Wall. Alex Blandino's going to make that list too, could even crack the top 5.

Jagielo was #7 on the 3B list last year. He may be again this year.

Prospects who could/should be on the 3B list, in no specific order:

Hector Oliveira (could be considered an OF)
    Austin Riley
    Ryan McMahon
Brandon Drury (could be a 2B)
    Jomar Reyes
    Rafael Devers
    Richie Shaffer
    Colin Moran
    Matt Chapman
    Renato Nunez
Joey Gallo (could be an OF)

Jagielo strikes me as a long shot.

Jim Callis likes Jagielo more than some of the others. He has Jagielo at the highest ranking within the Cincinnati Reds prospects of most of the prospect hounds.

Third Base is a pretty shaky position as far as quality in the minors. Go look at the 2015 seasons of the guys you listed. After about the top 5, it is a toss up.

Already cited Winker. We need two more OF in addition to him. Schebler doesn't qualify as a serious prospect.

    We shall see.

I like him far more than any other Red OF prospect not named Winker. His AA line in Chattanooga looks really nice to me. But I guess that .280/.350/.550 line makes you laugh.
