Athletics Designate Casper Wells For Assignment
By Zach Links [April 28 at 12:29pm CST]

The Athletics announced that they have designated Casper Wells for assignment. The move will allow Oakland to reinstate Yoenis Cespedes from the disabled list.

The well-traveled outfielder cost the A's $100K when they picked him up from the Blue Jays but he wound up making just one start for Oakland. The 28-year-old is capable of playing all three outfield positions and has posted a strong .264/.349/.489 batting line versus left-handed pitching in his career. Last season with the Mariners, Wells hit .228/.302/.396 in 316 plate appearances.

All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

If you can't stay on the Astros MLB roster, you probably don't fit well on the 29 other teams, either.

Tough for Sappelt, he certainly hasn't caught fire with the Cubs.

Reds should try to pick up Scott Hairston. He could platoon with XMan in LF. Hairston can hit.

    Rick Ankiel was DFA'd.

Should the Reds try to acquire him?

I thought Fernando Martinez had a shot to be decent when he first came up.

Ankiel's best chance to keep playing will be the independent leagues

i agree. Scott Hairston has been on my radar for awhile. I think he would be a nice fit in our park too.
