Whew that was close. Beltran flies out to the wall in right. 0-0 after 3.

So far this game, Mesoraco grounded into a DP with men on first and third, one out. Then Cozart grounded out with a man in scoring position and two outs.

If the Reds are going to continue to play these tight ball games, these kinds of at bats hurt.

This also seems to imply an error should have been charged.

Rule 10.12(d) Comment: When a fielder muffs a thrown ball that, if held, would have completed a double play or triple play, the official scorer shall charge an error to the fielder who drops the ball and credit an assist to the fielder who made the throw.
I think everyone agrees that if Cozart holds on to the ball, Molina is out. No big deal. Nothing came of it. I was just curious.

Enlightening. Thanks for the research Dave.

And by the way, how awesome is it that the rule book uses the word "muffs". :O)

IF single for Votto. Tough play for Descalso on that slow roller.

Baseball is just a funny game. Joey was CRUSHING the ball yesterday and got robbed several times....slow tapper...HIT. LOL

Just locked Jay up there. Good pitch, batter in a funk. Not a good combo.
