Question: How is that not an error on Cozart? If he doesn't drop that simple toss, Molina is a dead duck.

I know he pulled off the throw...but that can't be a safe way to do that. He never stepped towards his target or anything. I would think it would be VERY easy to throw that WAAAAAY off line. But...it was a perfect throw, so what the hell do I know. :O)

Can't be an error on a double play attempt.

Single for Derrick Robinson. Too bad he wasn't hitting seventh. Now we'll see a bunt, then Choo, potentially interesting inning.

There's an argument for it. Robinson makes things happen, can bunt, can run.

You can even make an argument for him to hit second.

    In Ludwick's absence of course.

Arroyo can't get a bunt down and strikes out.

Choo's OPS against lefties so far this year is under .600. His OPS against righties is more than double that. It's early.

This does not seem to be true according to this.

    10.12 Errors
An error is a statistic charged against a fielder whose action has assisted the team on offense, as set forth in this Rule 10.12.
    (a) The official scorer shall charge an error against any fielder:
    (1) whose misplay (fumble, muff or wild throw) prolongs the time at bat of a batter, prolongs the presence on the bases of a runner or permits a runner to advance one or more bases.

I haven't seen anywhere close to enough of this kid to know what he can do with the bat OR glove. He's got speed and he can bunt. That's about all I know about him. He's got to be able to do more than that before I pick him over Paul or Heisey.

~edit~ I just looked over his MilB numbers....Looks like he's a zero power, poor average hitter, but skilled in drawing walks, average K's and with excellent SB skills. Useful to be sure, but starter....not sold (even a temp starter).

Interesting. I was always told that you can't have an error on a double play because the double play can never be considered a routine play (or something along those lines).
