What is interesting is the DFA for Corky. Unless there is something requiring it in the CBA due to his service time, the Reds could have just sent Corky to AAA without clearing him off of the 40 man as Hanigan was only on the 15 day DL. The DFA takes the Reds down to 39 on the 40 man.
Does service time continue to accrue when a DFA is pending?

Corky ran out of options ages ago, a DFA is the only way to send him down.
Just sign him to be a coach in Pensacola and tutor Barnhart or Dayton for Blaine and Joe.
Love Corky, but this is great news. Healthy Hanigan makes this team a lot better.
