Ismael Guillon: 30 BB, 20 IP -- what gives?

Anybody have insight on what's wrong with Guillon?
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

He probably needs to head back to Arizona to work on his mechanics. I hope he's not hurt.

Yep. Arizona may very well be his next stop.

I wonder if Garret or even Travieso could take his place in the Dayton rotation? Unlikely I know, but I'm eager to see what those guys can do in full season ball.

Separately, when will Langfield be ready? Is he headed to Dayton or Bakersfield?

Guillon apparently on the every other year plan. Does not bode well for his future....

Yips is a good description. More mental than physical. Langfield is still a ways away. Travieso would likely be the choice.

Any mechanics changes? I know it has been brought it up before.

No issues in the bullpen. He gets in the game and yes, his mechanics start changing. Not sure if that is the way you meant it, though.

    Bump.

A little blurb on Guillon from pitching coach Tony Fossas. Sounds encouraging. He is pitching better but still is not quite there yet. I like what I hear.

“For the last two or three starts, his bullpens and pregame have been right on the money, and he’s still — his bullpens are still better than the way he’s pitching. His rhythm and tempo have been really good, and he’s not thinking about anything.
