No, but you don't just throw a breaking ball just to throw one either. There are times to mix them in. That wasn't the time. Bad pitch selecion cost the Reds two runs.

Good news and bad news today.

Bad news is that I got the first DirecTV bill of the season. I forgot to cancel Extra Innings. It's on auto-renew from last season.

The good news (I guess?) is that I'm not dealing with the delay of mlb.tv today.

Most of them haven't yet, though.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

    Miller strikes out looking.
Cingrani strikes out swinging. 2-1 Cubs mid 2nd.

He threw 4 sliders that inning. Out of 24 pitches. The HR came on a fastball. He had a slider get away from him and plunked Rizzo. I think it's a reach to say he's behind 2-0 due to the slider and pitch selection. He didn't locate the fastball well that inning either. Who's to say that Rizzo wouldn't have gotten a hit on a fastball there?

Paul's double would've played a lot better in front of Votto and Phillips rather than Corky and the pitcher.

He located his fastball really well against the first three hitters.

No he didn't. Sure he threw some for strikes...but he was missing his locations. Go back and look again and watch Miller's mitt. He's been all over the place with the FB today.

I don't have a good feeling about this one.

I must have been watching a different inning. He threw some great fastballs to Ranson, one of which was missed by the ump. The two fastballs to Rizzo were perfectly located.
