Well, good comeback. Hopefully he settles down some.

Awful, awful pitch selection cost the Reds two runs there. You have Rizzo 1-2, and he's obviously not seeing the fastball well, why even fool around and throw him the breaking ball? Stupid. Another fastball there and this inning would have been over.

Looked like soriano stood there and posed after he hit that. I guess when you rarely hit them you gotta enjoy the ones you hit.

It just made no sense to throw Rizzo a breaking ball, IMO. Go with your best pitch, the one Rizzo can't pick up.

Well, if nothing else it doesn't look to be a pitchers duel today.

Cubs hitters are sitting on the fastball. Cingrani needs to throw a lot more secondary pitches this game if he wants to survive, just to prove to the hitters that they can't just wait for the FB.

Nice. Frazier is 3 for 6 against Samardzija with 2 dingers.

Some good swings from Frazier there. He clearly sees the ball well from Samardzija. Flies out to deep center.

Actually, throwing the breaking ball that inning is what cost Cingrani two runs. He mowed the first two hitters down with ease, and had Rizzo down 1-2 with two well located fastballs, then someone decided to get cute and throw a breaking ball, and it eventually cost him two runs. Stick with the fastball there and Cingrani escapes with no damage, IMO.

You can't throw the FB exclusively though. EVERY mlb hitter will catch up to it if they know it's coming.
