Barney and Rizzo saved the Cubs from disaster that inning.

I'm not convinced about this game, hate these windblown Chicago games. Odd things happen.

Cubs have set a new NL record for BS hits in a game.
Rounding third and heading for home...

Just out of Lutz's reach. Not sure any of our LF'ers get that one. Wind is kinda nuts today.

Lutz didn't really go full speed after it at first I thought.

You can't fault Lutz for that one, the darn wind again

I think the wind has about 4 doubles so far.

Most likely. Twisting away from him too.

I'd love to see LeCure go 3 today if he efficiently gets out of the 7th with just one run allowed.

I didn't mean that W-L directly tells us the value of individual relievers, you're correct.

Just the dynamic on the Reds seems to be (without double checking) a lot of late game decisions, a lot of reliever decisions, some overall indication about the team.

And, for example, Hoover's W-L record shows his struggles early, but doesn't reflect his recent very good outings.

Today it's been "bloop, bloop bloop for the CUUUU-BIES..."

    Ok, that was bad.

Reds might consider moving their outfielders in a tad.

Lots of bloops dropping in. As Votto's hit showed, will be quite difficult to hit one to the wall today.

He really hasn't been a long-man in a year or so. 2 is the most I've seen him go in quite a while. Simon was the long-man last year it seemed.

~edit~ Yep, he went 2.1 only once last year. Longest outing. Was a starter at the beginning of 2011, but since then he's gone 3 one time.

The usual good effort by Sam . He's a big part of this team.

I don't know what he is capable of, but I'd love to sneak him through 3 and try to save a guy for the Braves series. Or let the B-team bullpen finish this one.
