If I were the Cubs, the first thing I would do is re-work Marmol's delivery. Waaaaay too many moving parts. His arm slot is all over the place (not today exactly...just in general).

Just going to have to shake that inning off and grind it out. Need the relief corp to keep up their good work.

I'd like to debate that some time on RedsZone.

I think W-L is an interesting stat. It's perhaps least interesting in evaluating a starting pitcher.

For example, no Red pitcher has more than 2 wins currently this season. Yet two NL pitchers have 5. Tells us something about the nature of the team.

Also, W-L tells us something about relievers. IMO maybe more than starters.

Lutz is in on a double switch. Lecure is in. Hasn't been great lately.

LeCure in. Lutz in LF for Paul.

LeCure starts out with a punchout of Valbuena

Sometimes I guess I'm just too thick to understand.

In a wind blown stadium with balls dropping all over, why use Lutz in the outfield?

I guess the alternative is Derrick Robinson. I guess Dusty wants Derrick available to pinch hit. That must be the thinking.

I'd much rather see Derrick in LF, he's more experienced. I never liked the decision to promote Lutz, wouldn't use him there. But maybe it will work out, hopefully.

I was under the impression that Lutz was a solid defender out there. Gotta be better than Paul at least. Some pretty poor plays out there today from Xavier. Personally, I was kinda surprised Paul was starting today. Seemed like a good day to give to Derrick...or Lutz for that matter.

    Nice 1-2-3 from Sam

It looks like he can. McCutchen appealed a scoring decision last season, though I'm not sure if he won or not.

What an AWFUL call...no excuse for an ump blowing one that obvious.

But I'm fine with the call because Mr. Lutz just got his first MLB hit out of it! Congrats Donald!

Lutz should get credit for getting on base twice. Congrats on the 1st hit!
