That ball was hit a mile in the air, and about half way between 2nd and the CF wall it was Choo's ball all the way! He misjudged it badly.

Votto is clearly not ready to start working on his triple swing yet.

Sac fly by Phillips. Votto to third. 6-3 Reds.

6-3 after the sac by BP...not crazy about the first pitch hack there.

Joey Votto is pretty good at baseball

Yay tags one, snared by Rizzo...robbed of two hits that inning by (gasp) great Cubs defense.

I think W-L is an interesting stat. It's perhaps least interesting in evaluating a starting pitcher.

For example, no Red pitcher has more than 2 wins currently this season. Yet two NL pitchers have 5. Tells us something about the nature of the team.

Also, W-L tells us something about relievers. IMO maybe more than starters.

Lutz is in on a double switch. Lecure is in. Hasn't been great lately.
I agree that it's interesting to talk about. It's fun for bar trivia and stuff. I do not necessarily agree that it's more meaningful for relievers. Your closer can give up the lead and you win in the bottom of the inning and he gets a vulture win. That can really skew it.

Votto hitting .325 now. I think the stories of his problems at the plate were highly exaggerated. :O)
