    Interesting salary matchup graphic

LA Times lets you match up two teams by payroll by position.

Their numbers aren't accurate though, at least at cursory glance. For instance, Ludwick signed a two year, $15 million dollar deal this offseason but they have him earning only $2 million.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Ludwick has a weird contract. He only makes 1MM this season. Then I imagine they spread his 2MM bonus over his 2 guaranteed years. His buyout is where he gets the rest of "this year's money".

Not incorrect, just doesn't account for odd contracts.

This is very cool, thanks for sharing the link.

I love the Yankees' chart: 41.9 million dollars for a contingent of third basemen that has so far put up -0.6 WAR. That's got to hurt.

I'm more appalled that Nick Masset is stealing $3 million. Is that true?

Yeesh, that Dodgers graphic is...rather graphic. That outfield and starting rotation...wow.

Cots has him down for 6.5...though I know there is some fancy stuff going on with a bunch deferred.

Big picture though...60 million total for 2009-2013. He's been well worth it, even in spite of his league worst 2011 season. I would never have thunk it.
