Can someone explain the stat IsoP? Is it the same as ISO? I realize it is a power stat but haven't wrapped my head around it and what a good level is or means?
Thanks

They're the same thing. SLG-BA. Although some places give triples the same weight as a double since it's more of a speed generated base than power.
OK. Is higher better or does that simply reflect that someone doesn't hit for average as well as power? Ex a 200/200/ 500/ 700 guy would be an ISO 300 but a 300/400/500/900 guy would only be an ISO of 200. I assume Dunn and Wily Mo had a much higher ISO than Votto. Is it a stat simply to be used in conjunction with other numbers?
It's probably the simplest way of measuring just a guys power. It's not an aggregate measure of production in any real sense, so don't think of it from a value standpoint. It's most useful as a skill estimate.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
Chris Carpenter is having a hard time explaining this to his son.
Eric Stratton, Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet ya.
Thanks all. tonight's question: Why isn't it a sac fly if the runner advances but does not score?? ex 2nd to 3rd. There is no such differentiation with a sac bunt.
