Braves announcers talking about the umps. Why did they switch from the big chest protector? They said with them the umpire was more in line with the heart of the plate, and the better positioning allowed them to pick up the outside strike zone easier. any ideas? is that even true?

I think that in a year or two, one of these guys - Frazier, Dorn, Valaika, Cumberland, Stubbs - will be ready to replace Dunn. They won't hit as many home runs as Dunn, but they should have similar OPS. - 757690, July 22, 2008
