Time to spell Frazier with Hannahan?

For a few games, and only against RHP, of course.

I think his head could probably use a holiday.

.248/.324/.364 over the last three seasons.

Coming into today, Frazier was hitting .259/.400/.333 in May.

I will take my chances with Frazier.

Obviously, but maybe a few days off gets the .733 OPS Frazier back to the .800 OPS Frazier.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

With an off day tomorrow, I wouldn't be opposed to sitting him on Tuesday to get two days in a row off. But anything more than that seems like a bit much.

Just like Cozart, Todd Frazier this year has a substantially increased ground ball rate and a reduced line drive rate.

It could be the way they are pitching them. It could be that these hitters are trying to avoid fly balls and beating too many on the ground. Or it just could be early season woes or variances.

In both cases, the fly ball rates are about the same as 2012.

I'm not equating the two hitters, but it is interesting how they are both hitting many more grounders and their overall hitting lags behind last year.

No, I'm not saying Cozart and Frazier are equivalent hitters.

Yes. Frazier is wilting a little and Hannahan has been rotting.

I am worried. They need his glove but cannot afford to have his bat turn into Scott Rolen 2011.

Hannahan has an excellent glove as well. With an off day Thursday, there's an opportunity for Dusty to give Frazier some consecutive days off and hopefully re-charge his batteries.

A few days to clear his head would be good for Frazier. After that the every day job should still be his.
