The #Reds are expected today to purchase the contract from AAA-Louisville of Infielder Ivan DeJesus Jr. A corresponding roster move TBD

Probably the best bat available, though he doesn't really help with OF depth.

I'm guessing it will be some mix of Schumaker, Boesch, and Negrón in LF, unless they want to play DeJesus out of position there, or move Frazier to LF with DeJesus at 3B. (I wouldn't move Todd, though.)

When he ends up hitting poorly, I'm just gonna throw it out there now that we call him Ivan the terrible.

Prove me wrong Ivan. Prove me wrong.

Since there are no teams on the moon, I guess South Korea's far enough from Cincinnati to satisfy me.

I'm guessing that Schumaker, Boesch, & Negron split time in LF and DeJesus is just another bat on the bench.

First to the post will be Negrón, as the Reds are facing a lefty tonight.

This might be the game where we see a pitcher (Leake) bat seventh, with Negrón eighth and Hamilton ninth.

Perfectly expectable, not very interesting or productive move, IMO.

Not a massive fan of this move. I advocate DeJesus being on the roster completely, but I would have him there instead of Negron/Skip. I would have liked to see Selsky get regular playing time our there. Good OBP and deserves a chance over Skip and negron who have had too many already.

I may be one of the few that thinks Schumaker deserves his bench spot. Last I checked he is leading the league in pinch hits. Bench guys are not supposed to be hitting .320. If that was the case, they would more than likely be starting. He can play multiple positions as well.

Negron on the other hand... that .119 average baffles me as to why he is still on this team.

I follow him on Twitter and I tweeted him back after that telling him DeJesus was called up. I doubt I was the only one.

Negron is on the team because he can play SS. That's the main reason, got to have a backup SS.
His other versatility is a plus.
I'd love an upgrade too. Just explaining why he's on the team.
I do agree with the Reds on giving Suarez a full year at AAA this year.
I am guessing either Cozart or Phillips (probably Cozart) will not be on the team next year, and Suarez will start.
Maybe that timeline gets pushed to 2017 if Suarez has options to make it happen.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

Right, I understand and know what the 'company line' statement as to why he's still on the 25 man roster. I'm sure there are plenty of guys though who play more than one position, bat right handed, and of course can hit at least .120

I'm completely fine with Suarez in AAA all this year as well. With the type of season Cozart is having, it really makes no sense to have him up here getting a limited amount of AB's.

I'm assuming Mesoraco or Byrd to the 60 Day DL to open the spot.
