I agree in that I want to see this team win series' against the teams that matter right now in the NL and that will include teams in the West which we haven't faced yet.
But to answer the thread title directly, yes, the Reds are one of the best. By winning those series' against some of the 'other' best...That's when you can say you're ready to make a WS run.

Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
I'll preface my retort with this, yes we are a good team and arguably a very good team when healthy. Having said that wouldn't you expect a "very good" team to have something a bit closer to .500 if not over against other very good teams. Granted it is a small sample but if they keep that pace up we are watching the playoffs most likely. Teams that beat who they should and lose mostly to the good teams aren't generally a "very" good team after all.

Without question. They haven't played that way quite yet.....but they have the total package to compete with anybody.
Baseball is like church. Many attend, few understand
4th best record, 4th best run differential (our pythag is 25-15), of course we are one of the best teams in baseball.

Contrary to what some Reds fans believe and think, they are one of the best teams in baseball. Just enjoy it. It's not been long ago they were in the bottom third of baseball.

I know we've had injuries, but I'm concerned about not beating the good teams and feasting on the terrible ones.
I'm also concerned about Cozart and Frazier at this point.
Still doesn't seem like things are clicking on all cylinders.
