    Best books about the Reds?

I'm just about to start reading Collision at Home Plate: The Lives of Pete Rose and Bart Giamatti.

Anyone have any other recommendations? Have to fill those hours between games with something, might as well read. Or I could pay attention to my wife and family, but you know

I really enjoyed Red Legs and Black Sox: Edd Roush and the Untold Story of the 1919 World Series.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

The Machine by Joe Posnanski. Loved it. Then go and read everything else he has written especially The Soul of Baseball....my favorite baseball book.

I'll second The Machine. As a fan born after the BRM, it is an amazing read into that team.

I concur. Very good book about the BRM.

The book about the 6th game of the 1975 is good too. Quite a bit of info about the BRM. I can't remember the name of it now.

I just finished Tales from the Dugout by Tom Browning. Good book about the 1980's and early 90's Reds teams. Mainly funny stories told by Browning. It's not a tell all but some good info about the 1990 team.

I'm sure I've mentioned it before but Pennant Race is one of my favorite books of any genre. A great look inside the game, a full decade before Ball Four came out, and a Reds pennant winner to boot.

Thanks for the tip. I picked up the Browning book while I was there.
