You know the "Lost Decade" is long since gone when one of our biggest concerns at the moment is how many pastries our closer ate the other night.

I'm guessing the problem yesterday was that Chapman didn't eat enough. Chapman ate the other 82 before tonight's game. Donuts = Strength

When the babe first came to Cincinnati in an exhibition game in July of 1921 he spent the night at a "Fishing Camp" on the banks of the Little Miami in Loveland.

He fished, he drank, he probably sampled local wares...

The Babe used to eat several hot dogs in between innings. I think one game he had at least 20.

The pastry thing is weird though. If you consume a ton of sugar, you tend to crash as the sugar leaves your body. I've eaten a bunch of donuts before, and you feel great for about an hour, then you feel like taking a nap. I certainly wouldn't recommend that an athlete eat a bunch of sweets hours before a game. They already drink enough Gatorade.

Listen man, his fastball WAS down to 95. I mean, T-ball hitters could rake off a slow pitch like that. Let's forget for a moment that Danny Graves topped out at 92 (and usually sat around 89-90 with his "fastball") ... there is no excuse to only be throwing 95 MPH. I don't care if you ate 18 Cuban pastries, 10 Big Macs, went to Golden Corral and ate everything you saw, just no excuse for it.

Its probably better than potato chips or some other greasy salty snack that hundreds of thousands blubbery kids eat before sitting down to work on their case of video game thumbs.

I think "wares" was autocorrected due to the family nature of the board.

She's never played a video game in her life. She's more of an iPhone fanatic.
