    Dan Langfield injury update....

    .....still a ways to go.

Rehabilitation has involved a lot of stretching and a buildup of distance throwing from 45 feet to, he hoped, 90 feet by the end of last week.“I’ve got a little ways to go. I’m not rushing anything. I want to avoid any surgery at all. ... Running and rehab. That’s about as fun as it gets.”Langfield has been back throwing for about a month and he’s hoping to be back in action within a month-and-a-half, but, he confessed, “there is no official timetable. We’ll let it run its course.”

Thanks TD, was just wondering about this. His numbers were extremely impressive last year (and we've had very good luck lately taking college pitchers in the third round).

That really sucks. He was awesome last year after getting drafted (he was the Ben Lively of 2012). Oh well, plenty of pitchers have come back from injuries early in their career.

Anymore, I'd almost rather it be a elbow as opposed to a shoulder

No question, especially if it's Tommy John. Some guys come back stronger from Tommy John. No one comes back stronger from shoulder surgery.

Spoke with him briefly today. He is excited about throwing to hitters for first time tomorrow.

    How did it go?

I'm back in San Diego now, so I have no idea how it went. I was hoping someone visiting Goodyear would follow up. A nice thing this year is that the minor league players have their names on their uniforms. Makes watching the drills much more fun.
