    5.21.13 Reds @ Metropolitans

    Robinson 8,
    Cozart 6,
    Votto 3,
    Phillips 4,
    Bruce 9,
    Frazier 5,
    Lutz 7,
    Mesoraco 2,
    Leake RHP

    V. Niese LHP
    3-4, 5.40 ERA
Niese rebounded from the worst two-start stretch of his career to give the Mets 7 1/3 innings of two-run ball Thursday, relying on mechanical lessons reinforced by practicing in front of a mirror. He is 1-2 at Citi Field.

Shortstop Zack Cozart started to feel sick on the team bus on Saturday night, and he missed his second straight game on Monday while battling a mysterious stomach bug.

"The doc couldn't say if it was food poisoning or just a little bug. It was awful," Cozart said. "On Saturday night it was bad. I'm off today to get fluids in me as much as possible. I'm sure I'm still dehydrated, even after I drank a lot of water yesterday."

Cozart was quarantined in the trainer's room during Sunday's game but was back with his teammates on Monday. Neither he nor manager Dusty Baker said whether he'll be back in the lineup on Tuesday.
    • Reds center fielder Shin-Soo Choo will have the day off on Tuesday with the lefty Niese on the mound.

I'd like to see Cozart, Mes, or Frazier get on board tonight.

I saw Baker pull Robinson aside on the way back to the dugout after last night's win. I figured he was telling him he was starting today. Leading off in place of Choo though? Didn't think that, it's pretty cool. That is one of the many things Dusty does well.

Yeah, this should be interesting. I've really liked what I've seen of Robinson (small sample size noted). And it's always good to give the main guys a rest every now and then, and I think tonight's a good time to give Choo a night off.

Always very interesting to see Lutz....and he actually might be a better bet against the lefty than Paul.

Robinson was in the lineup last night because Niese was the starter (or that's what the Reds had heard) once they learned he wasn't starting until tonight they pulled him and slotted Choo in there. Dusty wanted to give Choo a night off against a LH

On paper this looks like a poor run producing lineup, so I imagine we score like 11.
    Is it "next season" yet?

It's weird that Redszone is so quiet about Cozart batting 2nd. You'd think people would complain about that...

Did Cozart just strike out on one pitch? Wow. That was fast.

George is quite confused. He said George Foster made his name in NYC before he went to Cincinnati.

hard ball thru the wickets at 3B --- might be a good omen because Wright doesn't do that
