Baseball is hard, but you make it harder when you stick an automatic out between your two best hitters every single night.

Also, I'm sure the specter of having to face a monster like Cesar Izturis or (be still my heart) Zack Cozart is going to stop a team from using their left-handed specialist to face Choo and Votto. I mean, repeat that to yourself. It's absurd.

Just to be fair, Choo and Votto didn't really get the job done there either. That inning wasn't all on Izturis.
    2014 predictions:
99-63 WS champs (Cards take 2nd WC, Mil 3rd, Pit 4th, Chi 5th)
Bruce/Votto neck and neck MVP race (neither takes it)
    Bailey CYA winner
    Hamilton ROY & GG

Don't care about that inning - well, I do, but it's a minor thing in the grand scheme. It's been a problem all year.

Duda strikes out swinging. 8 Ks. 3-3 after 5.

I thought Cueto looked really good those last 2 innings. Very dominant.

He made the adjustment. I'd pull Cueto right now. 90 pitches, leave with him feeling confident. It's time.
