Wow, that looked like strike three
(Referring to Jack Hannahan signing with a Korean team)
Since there are no teams on the moon, I guess South Korea's far enough from Cincinnati to satisfy me.

This game thread is like a Greg Maddux complete game pitch count.

Leake with man on second, one out. Third inning. Murphy the batter, one ball, two strikes. 3-0 Reds.

Leake strikes him out. Two down. Swinging on inside pitch, low.

This is the thing about Leake that makes me batty. He is supposed to be a control pitcher but he walks the .213 hitting #8 hitter. I know it was close and maybe he was getting squeezed but why do you nibble with a noodle bat.

Mike Baxter now. 1-1 count after hard hit foul ball. Mets announcers love that Reds starters are so durable.

Now 1-2 on Baxter. Wright on deck, so an important hitter here.

    K, inning over.

Mike Leake looks fantastic tonight, and has been very good for the majority of the year. If you ask me, he may be the most underrated pitcher on our staff. On some of those early 2000 teams he would have EASILY been our best pitcher. Now he's a back of the rotation starter for us. Not bad, huh?

Did you see Mez give him the sign and then hit his glove on the ground to show how much he wanted that pitch to drop? And then Leake threw it perfectly. Nice job by both of them.

Also one of the best hitters on the team.

Seriously, I like him a lot. Never understood everyone jumping off the bandwagon so early. Dude skipped the minors. He's pretty good.

I was thinking the same thing. Reminded me of the Seinfeld episode. He needs a second procedure.
