Well, the Mets are a bad team and it's only May, it's a tough job to announce for them.

The Mets announcers are pretty good, far better than most of the Central announcers I hear watching games on Extra Innings. I like Ron Darling very much. He knows the opposition well, that's unusual.

MLB.com's gameday just gave this tidbit of "scout" info during BP's at bat:

"Matt Harvey may prefer to go after Brandon Phillips, whose OPS is .776 this season, with the changeup rather than facing Shin-Soo Choo, whose OPS is .974."

Who got preemptively rewarded for that Cozart 3 hit prediction? Take that trophy away. I said 5 hits. Looks like I still have a shot.

Nice job by Phillips! Runners at the corners now and Reds in the lead.

And we have a pitching change.

    Get back!

BP occasionally lets himself get caught up running - glad the Mets didn't notice in time.

    Another meaningless Ribeye for Brandon.

Tsk tsk to whoever is letting Harvey throw all these pitches this early in his season/career.

3-2 Reds. I thought that would've been a double, but Phillips races back to 1st.

    Harvey's done.
    2014 predictions:
99-63 WS champs (Cards take 2nd WC, Mil 3rd, Pit 4th, Chi 5th)
Bruce/Votto neck and neck MVP race (neither takes it)
    Bailey CYA winner
    Hamilton ROY & GG

Thanks for the comments on the Mets announcers. I was reading what you guys had said about the 'fight' between Mat and Jay in the dugout and it sounded rather petty overall so I had a bad impression from them showing that in their broadcast. Talks like that between teammates probably happen every single day...no need for any broadcast to show that to the fans. Again, just my opinion and I'm glad to hear that the Mets guys are actually pretty solid.

Hey, we got the lead while I was typing! Maybe I should keep typing, LOL

They said he regularly threw in the 120-pitch range in college. He's a horse.
