There's a difference: Cubs are rich but incompetent. Alderson knows what he's doing, but the Mets are broke, Wilpon having given all of his money to Bernie Madoff.

    3. Choo-big 9th inning hit.

    2. Joey- Don't give him a pitch he can hit on 3-0.

And the #1 star- Zach Cozrt- he's a better ballplayer than he has shown thus far. Hopefully this gets him going.

I think Phillips gets in there someplace. Big RBI when 2-2 game. Big RBI in the ninth. Two huge clutch hits.

No. You do your usual twist things around and leave out pertinent information like me saying "I hope good BP shows up".

    But to each his own.

I've done nothing but defend BP all season to those who want to move him back to the 2-hole, reminding people he's leading the NL in rbi's.

All my post simply said was there's good BP and there's bad BP..........and I clearly said "I hope good BP shows up". And you went and purposely left out that important bit of information.

And BP is currently tied for 7th in the NL with 6 GIDP's.

Good win today bailing out the Dustinator.

The 1 thru 5 hitters all had a big day at one time or another. And Frazier had a big pinch hit too.

...and that's why the Mets are near last place.

    /still bitter
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Dude I can only 3 stars, not four. So I'll just make BP the star of the series. Timely hitting, superb defense, solid leadership.

I'm questioning the use of the word "ugh". It's one thing to say "I hope Brandon doesn't hit into a DP" but your first reaction to a situation where Brandon had driven in a run in about 80% of the situations over the last two years (with the llkely result a Reds win) is a negative "ugh"?

My thought? "Great, I hope Brandon comes through, he's the exact guy we want up here".

There was absolutely no "ugh" in this situation. It was as good as it was going to get under the circumstances.

They talked about BP on the broadcast last night. Said he he used to think because he was batting cleanup he had to swing big with men on base, and that he's concentrated more on singles and doubles and simply coming through in the clutch this year.

I agree. His plate discipline and focus with RISP has been noticeably different and better this season.

Bobby Ojeda raving about BP's big hit in the 7th. really tough pitch. Checking the replays, just great plays by Bruce and joey. Just great defense.

Whatever dude. You keep analyzing my post and I'll keep talking about the game and praising the players.

Yeah Grande and Welsh have spoken a lot during the series on the broadcast about how the Mets players have been in awe of Brandon's defense and hitting. To the point they threw out a quote from an anonymous Mets player saying "how did Barney win the gold glove" or something like that.

BP is getting noticed big time by his peers.

Being a homer, it looked like it passed over the bag
