BTW, The Reds roughed up the Mets two great pitchers for 7 runs today. That was quite a feat in itself.

Especially on a day when it would appear that some of our bullpen may not have been available.

Marshall has had some arm soreness before this year (assuming that's what he has now). It may not end well.

Broxton has also not been available before. I assume he wasn't today if Ondrusek was warming up. I was surprised when Broxton didn't pitch the 8th or 9th yesterday.

We may be very lucky that we got to Pernell when we did, as extra's might have shown us who exactly was available.

We were having a fire alarm when it happened and I had to leave the building. I gather he just managed to get his bat on a tough pitch and we got lucky?

BP is getting noticed big time by his peers.
Wright was interviewed on Monday night and said how much enjoyed playing with BP on the WBC team.

It was a tough inside pitch that he muscled down the third base line. Very aggressive hitting.

I think the only people in the world who dislike Brandon are casual Card fans.
I think the hard core Cards' fans understand him better, while the casual ones simply know him from the big fight where the youngster Larue had his promising career end prematurely.

I was at the game in the lower level behind home plate. Some observations:

    - Harvey didn't have his best stuff, but battled. No way should he have started the 7th to face the top of the order over 100 pitches.

    - Latos didn't seem to have his best stuff either and gave up some hard hit balls right at Reds fielders. The BABIP gods were kind to the Reds today.

    - Votto's homer was one of the hardest opposite field homers that I ever witnessed. What a sound that ball made coming off the bat.

    - What the heck got into Cozart?

    - Ike Davis looks defeated. Horrible play in the field.

    - At least three balls today would've been HRs at GABP. Paul (out), Davis (out), Ankiel (double).

Good first hand report. Any idea what Latos was getting on Bruce about in the dugout?

None. Didn't even see it. From the story in ORG, it didn't look like anything serious.

Yeah, but what's his BABIP? I'm sure that's what's the driving force in his hot streak.

I will say the ump was in position and had a great look at it. Being a slowly hit ball, I can't imagine he missed it but the same can be said for Ike Davis

The Reds have gone 14-5 in the month of May. And have lost ground. Is this going to be another 1993 for Dusty?
