I also don't think that 310 pounds is even close either. I actually think he looks considerably slimmer this year. Still baggy uni, but slimmer.

Most likely. Smart people do stupid things sometimes.

It's going to be painful shelling out $14M the next two years when this guy is nothing but replacement level at best.

Right now, with Marshall out, I'd rather see Lecure pitch the eighth. Ondrusek, Hoover, and Broxton can alternate in the sixth and seventh. Parra as the LOOGY.

Only thing is, I think they like to give Sam a lot of rest. Seem to tread lightly with him.

Brox falls behind Barney, don't groove it. Oops, it's 1-2 on Barney. Still don't groove it.

I didn't like the Broxton signing when it was made, even if it was clear he was supposed to be the closer...but the money they paid him proves that not only was he supposed to do exactly that, but they expected him to be good.

When the announcement was made that AC was going back to the closer role in lieu of starting, it officially became the worst move Walt has made...not that he has a lot of competition. 3 years @18 mil for a middling setup man.

One wonders the conversations that took place in the Reds' FO this off-season to which we're not privy..

Sam has had a lot of "soreness" issues. They definitly don't overwork him.

Lol, Cubs announcers debating what it would take to charge Broxton on the mound.

"Mr. Catcher, don't you want to stop me? Please?"

People expect really big relievers like Broxton and Todd Coffey to throw like Dibble, and they generally don't.
