H-Rod/Corcino with Philly covering some money sounds fair for a two month rental.
    Agreed.

As far as RH OF with some pop-I still think Morse would be a relatively cheap rental from Seattle. He's a butcher in LF but would be an intimidating presence in GABP. He wouldn't be my first choice but he's a name to consider.

    Low risk chance

A name from the past just might wind up surfacing as a potential boost to some club’s offense during the pennant race. Free-agent outfielder Grady Sizemore has been working out as he continues to recover from the microfracture knee surgery that caused him to miss last season with the Indians and is hoping to be ready to play after the All-Star break.

Sizemore has appeared in just 104 major-league games since the start of the 2010 season and hasn’t stayed healthy for a full year since 2008. However, he is still only 30 years old and averaged 5.0 WARP a season from 2005-08.

“I’d take a shot on him, let him try to work his way up through the minor leagues, see if he has anything left,” said an FOT from a contending team. “His talent was undeniable when he was healthy. “

As long as he's on the DL, he's eligible for the post-season.

If I were the Reds, I'd give him a shot. Make him go through a try-out and sign him to a deal that requires him to show some spark in AAA first.

I really don't think you can count on Ludwick coming back and being the same player he was after shoulder surgery. It zaps power hitters power.

I'm fine with taking a flyer on Sizemore, but my gut tells me he is done.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Sizemore is too much of a risk. He hasn't played since 2011 and was never that good. He had some solid years but not enough talent imo to make a comeback.

Taking a spot away from even a replacement player on the roster. I'd rather watch Robinson or someone else in AAA have a shot than a player that's years removed.

I don't foresee Sizemore as outperforming anyone on our bench. The guy peaked at the age of 23 in 2006 then showed steady decline from there. He's 30 and hasn't played a full season since 2008. Why do you think he'll be effective? He only has name recognition.

Personally, I just don't see how taking away a spot/plate appearances from Robinson hurts the team. Conversely, if Sizemore can perform anywhere close to where he was at his peak, the payoff would be amazing. Classic low risk/high reward transaction IMHO.

He doesn't even have to take a spot from the roster. They could sign him to a minor league deal with incentives and activate him later.

That was SEVEN years ago!!!! Xavier Paul is putting up better numbers than Sizemore did in his last 5 seasons. You're delusional to expect anything more than a .250+ avg from Sizemore. He could have some power off the bench but that's it.
