Minor League Updates - Sunday 5/26/2013

Bakersfield is up and at 'em early out West today. The lumber is still asleep apparently as their is no score heading into the bottom of the fourth. Ryan Wright has the lone Blaze hit so far. Carlos Contreras is stringing pearls again.
    4IP 2H 0R 0ER 1BB 4K.

On cue, Stockton hangs a five-spot in the fifth.

Blaze fall 7-1. Juan Silva had a solo home run to account for the only Bakersfield run. Ryan Wright went 2-3 with a walk. Contreras got slapped around in the fifth. Brooks Pinckard babbled 2.1 innings of perfection, striking out three.

Ismael Guillon is on the mound and is having trouble locating the plate again. He walked three in the first inning as the Dragons trail 1-zip after one. A caught stealing helped limit the damage.

Winker and Gelalich single in the second frame but nothing comes of it. Guillon improving, just one walk in the second.

Turnaround game for Guillen? Hopefully. 5IP 3H 1R 1ER 5BB 5K. Alejandro Chacin has hurled to harmless innings.

Dayton rallies on a Gelalich single, an error and a Ramirez sac fly. Tied at 1 in the 8th.

Gelalich 2-2 with a walk. Winker 1-2 with a walk. Petersen 2-3 so far.

Ben Klimesh with an outstanding four-inning stint out of the bullpen. He allowed two hits, walked one and struck out for.

Junior Arias proved to be a one-man rally in the top of the 12th. He doubled, stole third (24) and scored on a ground out.

Sean Lucas on to try to save it for the Dragons.

Guillon probably should have gotten away unscathed. He threw an absolute strike that would have been strike three to end the inning to Shines, but it was called a ball. The hitter, catcher and Loons announcers were all shocked by the call. Shines later singled in the run.

The opposing pitcher in the Dayton game is 16 years old. Simply incredible to see something like that.

I bet that makes it tough during night games, when your starter has to be home by the fifth inning or else he gets grounded.
