Re: Reds stats through 50 games, 2013

Awesome again. It's Memorial Day and 50 games are in the books. There is still a lot of season left, but it's not early anymore.

Teams will start sizing up direction in the next week or so and opportunity to make deals will open up. Marshall's injury highligted the need for a lefty reliever, but your second to the last paragraph showing some stats against lefty hitters would seem to indicate that the Reds need one even if Marshall was healthy or Cingrani takes his place. Still the top need IMO.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

2 things...I didn't realize that Chapman has pitched in 50% of the games so far this year.

And LeCure's 91.4 LOB rate. Wow!

I really wouldn't mind seeing LeCure more, and in high leverage situations. He's excelled in every role we've placed him in.

Been discussing this on some threads lately. Dusty seems to go out of his way to give Sam a lot of rest.

One poster said Sam has a lot of soreness. I recall in the minors he had his share of injuries.

The way Lecure has pitched, you'd expect him to be used a bit more, but I'm sure the Reds know what they are doing on this - they have to realize how effective he's been and how helpful he can be in games.
