How do you keep rallies alive when 5 positions in the order are producing very little.
The reds play in the NL where every teams #9 hitter is a hole in the lineup

Somebody needs to X-ray Izturis' bats.

    Those can't be wood.

They split the series last year (3-3) and it looks like they're going to split the series this year. What that means, I have no idea.

Cubs #9 hitter hit a grand slam today. I believe his name is Travis Wood.
The Cubs #6 hitter hit 3 home runs last night. I believe his name is Dioner Navarro.

I think we've heard their names before.

So your plan is to start dioner Navarro because he hit three home runs in one game and have Travis wood start 162 games and pitch 9 innings in each game because he hit a grand slam yesterday?

I was pointing out the weak spots in our line up. It's an assumption that NL teams have a weak pitchers spot. It is still a spot in the line up where we are getting little production.

nothing's over til we say it is! Was it over when the germans bombed pearl harbor?!

edited to add: I tried typing that sentence in all caps 3 times and Redszone apparently doesn't want to let it happen

Since there are no teams on the moon, I guess South Korea's far enough from Cincinnati to satisfy me.

It appears the Cards will win 110 games this year.
Yes that was a very impressive infield single. I thought for a second it was leaving the yard. - texasdave 10/13/12

Then what was the point of your remark? To stir up some interesting conversation about the fact Dusty puts bad hitters in the 2 hole? Isn't that rather old hat at this point? Do you expect someone to disagree with you?

Post #137 of this thread reflected unhappiness with Izturis hitting second.

In the context of a 7-0 ballgame against the Reds, I think it's a logical inference that somehow the post was intended to lay blame on Izturis -- at least partial blame.

If I'm incorrect, I'm sure you'll say so.

But it seems Izturis got a hit to load the bases earlier and the Reds' superstar hit into a DP. So I wonder what exactly Izturis did wrong here.
