When Rodriguez steps on the mound on Friday at PNC Park, he'll look for his fifth win in as many starts, a streak that dates back to May 10. In the previous four victories, Rodriguez has a 3.00 ERA while striking out 16 in 24 innings. For the season, the 34-year-old left-hander owns a 3.58 ERA, with a 6-2 record. Rodriguez has surrendered more than three runs on just one occasion this season, when he gave up seven on six hits and four walks in just 3 2/3 innings in Milwaukee at the end of April. That consistency has helped the Pirates to an 8-2 record in Rodriguez's starts this season.

*The Reds and Pirates will be wearing throwback uniforms tonight. Cincinnati’s uniforms will be replicas of the 1937 Cincinnati Tigers Negro League kits.

*Tonight also marks the 1,000th game to be played at PNC Park. The Reds were the winners of Game No. 1 here by an 8-2 score as Sean Casey’s first-inning home run off Todd Ritchie was the stadium’s first hit. Casey will be working as an analyst for Fox Sports Ohio this series.

Thought that was Corky Miller for a second. Regardless, those uniforms look pretty sharp.

I agree...I think they look great!
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

No Izturus today, we're going to win for sure
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

How's the forecast? We just had some heavy rain pass through in Dayton and it looks like it could be headed towards Pittsburgh. Could be a rain delay at some point.

Looks like the cells are heading NE which should buy them enough time to get this in. fingers crossed. The cell which passed Cincinnati not that long back looks like the one heading for Pitt.

Looks like we should hopefully be in the clear, then. Thanks for the radar.

Would love to see a full time platoon in LF and whether it is Paul or Robinson playing the LF hit 2nd. Other than that just hoping for a Reds win. Don't want to see Redszone completely meltdown.

Oh he will be, and he will be there all weekend. He does all the Reds games while the Reds are in Pittsburgh.
