I love how biopics have a scene where a mom, filled with consternation, calls out to the film's subject. It's always "Lou.....Lou......Lou Gehrig you come to dinner at once." Or "Tommy... Tommy,.....Tommy Dorsey you're dinner's getting called.

Just in case you wandered into the film without know who it's about.

"Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story" lampoons that trope (and pretty much every other biopic trope) mercilessly.

I think For Love of the Game is one of the great forgotten baseball movies. My only issue with it is the guy catching does not look like a ballpayer.

He does look more like a race car driver.

He may not "look" like an athlete but he does look like an old catcher. Just put the stache on him and compare him to Corky.
