It's time for LeCure to replace Broxton in the 8th

I've thought this for a while, and watching Broxton today just solidified my view. Here are their respective 2013 stats:

    Jon Broxton
    25 games, 23.1 innings, 21 hits, 7 BBs, 15 Ks, 1.20 WHIP, a 5.79 K/9 rate, and a 4.67 ERA.

    Sam LeCure
    21 games, 23.1 innings, 11 hits, 9 BBs, 25 Ks, .857 WHIP, a 9.6 K/9 rate, and a 1.16 ERA.

It's time for Sam to take over the 8th.

This is the most-obvious thing in the world to everyone ...

    ... except Dusty Baker.

It's amazing, really. Does LeCure have to never give up a hit or walk to prove he's far better than Broxton?

I've said it before and I'll say it again - the Broxton signing was the worst move of Jocketty's tenure so far.

Dear Sam, good luck if it happens. The natives turn awfully quick if you have a bad game or two.

I was in favor of the Broxton move, but he's not throwing 95 like he was last season. I still think something is off with him. I'd be willing to give Sam a try, but they need another arm IMO. I like the idea of Cingrani as rotation insurance and want him working on his secondary stuff so he could be a useful starter late in the season, but it may be getting close to the time to call him up to the pen.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

I'm not sure we want to do this with Cingrani, but I agree they need another arm and the sooner the better.

I blame the front office more than Dusty. When you pay someone that much money you are almost obliged to pitch him in the 8th until he pitches exceptionally bad. I wouldn't be surprised to see Dusty make a move now that he has the ammo to back him up.

Simon is looking pretty good. I still don't trust him.

    Thanks.

To the original post, regardless of what Broxton has done or is capable of doing, I think LeCure has earned the opportunity to pitch in higher leverage situations.

For past several weeks even the outs Broxton was getting were often tagged hard but right at someone. This has been apparent for awhile now, he is not fooling anyone.
    Let's play two!!!
