Of course, the Reds HBP total wouldn't be nearly that high if it weren't for Choo.

    LaMahieu robs Izturis. 4-6 FC.

Of course Izturis was right back to swinging at the first pitch as does Arroyo on a fly out to right. 1-0 Reds after 7.

How many times has a play like that even happened? That was a fluke play. Yes, he should have verified that the 1B had it, but I understood immediately how and why he missed the call. He's staring at the bag, and listening for the catch. He heard the catch beat the runner. The part of the play that was really bad for the ump was the 1b foot coming off the bag. Yes, it was a badly missed call. They happen. The percentage of close plays they get right is kinda astounding IMO. Sometimes I'm stunned at plays they get right when I can barely tell on a slow motion replay.

Keeping arroyo in is going to end up being a mistake. Please please let me be wrong.

So the last few times Arroyo pitched, people complained that he was an 85 pitch starter. Anybody want to go on record as suggesting he's going to get beat up this inning?
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
