Yikes. First that horrible break on the ball that nearly cost an out and then that. Kid needs to get his head in the game.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
One day when Lutz is regularly mashing HR's into the river we'll look back on this and laugh...

Hanigan hit a Hanigan-length drive to center and by the time it was caught 10 feet in front of the warning track Lutz was standing on third base.
