Hanigan has at least 35 votes!

for N.L. All-Star. His injuries contributed to a bad start but he is doing much better after his DL stint. I know it is a reach for him to be an All-Star but he is often over looked and wanted to give him some recognition. I am not a complete Reds homer since the only other Reds I voted for were Bruce, Phillips, Votto and Choo. All four are worthy especially Phillips and Bruce. As for the A.L. I voted for least deserving so the N.L can win and get home field advantage.

Actually, add 105 to that. I did a straight Reds ticket on the NL ballot.

I've voted for him a bunch of times.

Then again I've also voted for a straight Astros ticket in the AL. If the All Star game is going to mean something then I want the NL to have the easiest path to home field advantage.

Guys, CArpenter is catching up with Brandon Phillips! We can't have that can we?

And this thread is the perfect example of why fans should not have any input in all-star rosters.... especially now that it means something. It should be left to a committee of general managers and their scouts to determine who would be the best chance for home field advantage.

BRAVO ! I stopped voting once fans had the opportunity to cast 25 votes (at least) online. Then kind Bud decided that an exhibition designed as entertainment for the fans would decide home field advantage in the most important series of the entire season.

I hope that one of these years a manager decides to play the best players the entire game, let his starter go 6, and substitute only to pinch hit and for defense.

If the game's going to count, why not. Then let's see what Selig says.

As for voting (MVP, CY, etc. included)

    33% - Managers and coaches

    33% - Writers

33% - James gang (Bill James and the Sabre geeks)

Idk if the fans shouldn't be able to vote on the all star teams, but with all if the wild cards we have now, why cheapen the regular season even more? Best record should have home field. Let the all star game be an exhibition.

I hate the Cardinals - no disrespect intended.
