    Minor League Updates: Tuesday 6/04/2013

    Norfolk travels to Louisville.

Greg Reynolds has set down all six batters he has faced. Louisville stickmen came out smoking. Hamilton and Rodriguez singled and came around on a double by Felix Perez. Walks to Hessman and Phipps clogged the bases. Nevin Ashley with a mini-unclogger brought in a run. 3 zip in the second.

Greg Reynolds gives up a run in the top of the third. But Louisville adds a couple in the bottom half thanks to some shaky Norfolk play. Hessman walks for the second time in the game. Phipps reaches on an error. Ashley unclogs a run home for the second time. Phipps then steals third and races home on a throwing error. Louisville leads 5-1.

Henry Rodriguez with his third hit of the game.

Greg Reynolds could be starting to put it all together, he's an interesting player. Remember Vogelsong from SF, so its not impossible. He could be an option.

Henry Rodriguez should be in Cincinnati, DFA Izturis.

Felix Perez can hit, he will get called up at some point in 2013

Hopefully Soto has a monster year

I like HR...but his D is very Willie Greene like....and no one else can backup SS that Baker would trust.

I would love for you to be right about all 4 of these, although that Vogelsong situation is a rare one indeed. Doubt Reynolds has any future.
(Referring to Jack Hannahan signing with a Korean team)
Since there are no teams on the moon, I guess South Korea's far enough from Cincinnati to satisfy me.

Greg Reynolds with another solid effort. 7IP 6H 1R 0ER 0BB 3K. Nick Christiani came on in the 8th and gave up a run.

Louisville hitters have pounded out 13 hits. Henry Rodriguez leads the way with 4. Nevin Ashley has singled twice, doubled and driven in a pair. Josh Fellhauer has singled twice. Felix Perez is 1-4 with a walk. He has scored twice and driven home a pair.

Louisville leads 8-2 heading into the ninth. Kevin Whelan pitches a scoreless ninth.

Greg Reynolds is now 6-0 on the season with a 2.65 ERA. Nice.

Stop me if you have heard this one before. Pensacola getting another very good starting effort. And the Wahoos bats have been quiet.

The only run of the game was given up by Daniel Renken on a solo blast in the third. His line: 6.0IP 3H 1R 1ER 3BB 7K.

Offensive 'star' is Tucker Barnhart, who has a bunt single and a walk. LaMarre, Smith and Vidal also have singled.

Boom! Goes the dynamite! The Blue Fish explode for two runs in the top of the seventh to take a 2-1 lead over the Biscuit Men of Mississippi. A single by David Vidal and a two-run howitzer off the bat of Joe Mather.

Montgomery is trying to fight back but the baseball gods are against them. They have runners on second and third when the next batter up singles (according to the game log) but the runner on third is called out at home as he was hit by the batted ball. I am not sure how that happened. I thought the runner on third took his lead in foul territory. Oh well, break for Pensacola.

Rain has caused the game to be suspended in the seventh inning. It will be completed tomorrow.

After 3 innings it is scoreless out west. James Allen is pitching for the Blaze. Juan Perez has the only Bakersfield hit, a double leading off the ballgame.

    Allen is trying to build on a successful month of May. 34.1IP 22H 12ER 14BB 25K 3.15ERA.

Top of the 8th and neither team has scored. James Allen was tremendous. 8IP 2H 0R 0ER 2BB 3K.

Blaze has collected just four hits, the aforementioned double by Perez and singles by Yorman Rodriguez, Selsky and Waldrop.

Juan Silverio goes deep (5) in the ninth. Jamie Walczak records the save (2). Walczak started the season late but in five appearances covering 5.2 innings, he has yet to be scored upon, allowing just one baserunner over that span. Blaze win a pitcher's duel by the score of 1-0.
