OP, you wouldn't happen to post on IMDb, would you?
Choo got it, dude.
I had a hard time putting Rose on and a hard time leaving Lombardi off.
Grape works as a soda. Sort of as a gum. I wonder why it doesn't work as a pie. Grape pie? There's no grape pie. - Larry David
Rose, Bench, Doggie and Sparky
Others are deserving but I'd limit it to our greatest era
Rose, Bench, Morgan, Perez.
Talent is God Given: be humble.
Fame is man given: be thankful.
Conceit is self given: be careful.
Sabermetrics is this: A batter's goal is to extend the inning. Extend enough innings and you're going to score runs. Extend more innings than your opponent and you're going to score more runs than him.
Forget the rain. It's never an official game until the Reds piss away a run between third base and home plate. - Bluegrass Redleg
Extremely tough to pick only four.
Ask me again in 20 minutes and as many as three of them might be different. I think the only absolute no-brainer is Bench.
"I can make all the stadiums rock."
Rose, Bench, Klu. The last one for me is tough. I know many here automatically pick Barry...but he's no lock for me. Morgan, Sparky, Robby, Perez, Junior, Votto...lots of outstanding choices. I'd have to go Morgan I think. His time here wasn't as long as the others, but I think he did more with it than anybody.
99-63 WS champs (Cards take 2nd WC, Mil 3rd, Pit 4th, Chi 5th)
Bruce/Votto neck and neck MVP race (neither takes it)
Bailey CYA winner
Hamilton ROY & GG
I'm surprised so many in this thread have omitted Morgan. Dude is easily 1 of the best 2B of all time.
I would break mine up by era so as not to overweight the BRM years.
WWII era and before: Bucky Walters
1950's and 60's: Frank Robinson
BRM era: Johnny Bench
Post BRM: Barry Larkin
I'd put Cueto on there but he's so fat the mountain might crumble.
The Rally Onion wants 150 fans before Opening Day.
Roush to represent the early years (incredibly popular fan fave that modern fans have all but forgotten but at one time he was as popular as Pete before the gambling). Walters to represent the 2dchampionship era....Bench to represent the BRM...and Larkin to represent the last championship and modern era.
Ok so we have up to this point gone by playing ability.
Here are my 4 who you just look at and think "Cincinnati."
Rose (crew cut)
Sabo (rec specs)
Marge (cigarette hanging from mouth)
