I really hope they offer Morales at least $400K to sign. You can then just offer the balance (~60k or so) to Weiss as a take it or leave it proposition. He's very unlikely to make more than that in next year's draft as a college senior anyway.

Go BLUE!!!
Morales seems very unlikely.

Abreu's last tweet is a bit odd.

Maybe the Reds increased their offer to Abreu?
Morgan Lofstrom says he is likely to sign.

Krook Won’t Sign With Marlins
A postdraft physical exam of Marlins supplemental first-round pick Matt Krook raised issues that the two sides have been unable to resolve. As a result, sources familiar with the negotiations say that Krook will decline the opportunity to turn pro and instead will attend the University of Oregon in the fall.
Per MLB rules, Krook would become a free agent and Miami would lose its compensation pick for not signing him (No. 36 in the 2014 draft) if the club didn’t offer him at least 40 percent of the assigned value for his selection. The allotment for the No. 35 choice is $1,587,700. Sources said the Marlins will meet the 40 percent threshhold ($635,080) to recoup the draft pick.
Lorenzen shows up on Arizona roster now.
And it might be just an "admin" thing. Need to clear a spot at Billings first. We'll see.

Hey, I realize the Pioneer League is no joke, but I would hope a 3-year college player who was just selected in the supplemental first round would not consider going to high-rookie ball "being thrown to the wolves." We're not talking about starting him at Dayton.
I bet (hope?) Jax is right and this is merely an admin thing while they clear a roster spot at Billings. Or maybe they'll let him play a game or 3 with the AZL Reds before the promotion.
The thrown to the wolves thing was merely just a saying. He probably could use a warm up, even if he never appears in a game for the AZL Reds, he can be on that roster and not take a spot from someone while he gets some work in for a week and gets back into a baseball routine. Where as if they sent him directly to Billings, he was taking a roster spot of someone and wouldn't have been able to be "up to speed" so to speak right out of the gate. If he pitches this year, and I don't think anyone doubts he will, he will be in Billings rather quickly.
"Purely a financial decision" eh? So, either the Reds upped their offer, or there is a neuvo-Nevin Shapiro out there who is giving "Da U" players cash under the table.
Kidding. Just slightly though. There is certainly the chance that Abreu was referring to hoping to be a first-round pick 3 years from now when he said it's a "financial decision." But I sure hope he means that the Reds upped their offer and he will sign with them.
Skeptical though.
