Now the Yankees just took Paul O'Neill's nephew, Mike O'Neill.

Seems like a decent pick from the scouting reports.

Big physical kid with good pitchability and projectability.

    I don't believe he's related to Jack.

Projectable northern arm with clean mechanics and not a lot of wear and tear? I like the Armstrong pick.
    Why not Tromp?

Maybe the Reds could trade for a fourth lefty in the organization....someday.

Seems like the Reds keep taking guys that are kind of off the radar, with high ceilings but are somewhat of a project. Not saying thats a bad thing, just an observation.

I really like this pick and the signability of picks 38 and 67 should allow them to entice Armstrong away from college.

    6'02" 210lbs DOB: 11/26/94 | Scouting video
Armstrong is a strong, athletic right-hander from just outside Buffalo. While his present stuff is good, it isn't as enticing as his upside of having three at least Major League-average offerings. Armstrong's fastball sits around 90 mph and he mixes in a hard, downer curveball and changeup. Scouts think he has the potential to improve thanks to clean mechanics and his 6-fooot-3, 200-pound frame. Despite playing football and hockey in addition to baseball and not having as much game experience as his Southern counterparts, Armstrong already earns high marks for his pitchability. He is committed to Pittsburgh.
I dont care, Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. Hes in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.
