I just wish somebody would have kept it open and kept making the burgers. They had great homemade coconut cream pie, too.
I never ate at The Bobcat but I had heard its food was great.

On that note: grilled onions should be standard. A default. But you often have to go out of your way to get them added.

Fair enough. I consider "hipster" burgers things like gourmet-style vegan patties with artisanal ingredients like kelp, sodium-free pickles, or this http://www.sirkensingtons.com/.

Wait ... $5-$7 is too hipster for a burger meal? You'll pay that much for a angus burger meal at McDonalds! I'm perfectly happy to pay my $8 for a burger meal at Red Robin, which includes as many fries and drinks as you want.

I hate to say it, but my favorite is from Steak And Shake. My favorite local burger is the Big Boy. Five Guys is way too expensive, too hipster for me.

A Wendys Double w/ fries and a drink is $7+ after tax.

Guess Dave's is a little too "Hipster" for Jay too.

Actually, more than $5-7 for a meal is too hipster for me. Red Robin is good deal, and a very good burger.

Yeah, I'm super old fashioned, so most of this world is too hipster for me, lol.

And wow, that is an ultra hipster burger. One of my goals in life is to never know what kelp tastes like.

I agree. I'm not opposed to paying premium prices for a burger, but it needs real beef, real pork bacon, and vegetables that I recognize.

I'm also weird in that I hate tomatoes and tomato products, including ketchup, to artisanal ketchup is my kryptonite.

Blimpie Burger in Ann Arbor is really good, not a chain, but they were on DDD a few years ago. Otherwise 5 Guys in Toledo, or at Detroit Greektown Casino are pretty good. Red Robin just seems overpriced when we went there.

I am generally against change in terms of franchises with solid menus. However, the new(ish) Garlic Double Steakburger at Steak N Shake is absolutely ridiculously good. I think I go there two -three times per week.

It's probably a phase I'll grow out of, but it's definitely moved into my favorite burger category.

Love the shakes! The steaks aren't as great, but they are much better that McD

Meh, give me raw onions and pickles for the texture--there's already plenty of soft stuff on the burger...
