That's right, another high school catcher to consider -- this one from the same Florida high school that produced Eric Hosmer, among others. Collins' bat is ahead of his glove, and it's sure to get him plenty of attention in the spring. He has a pure stroke and a professional approach at the plate, giving him a chance to hit for average and power at the next level. The jury is still out about Colllins' defensive ability behind the plate, with some unsure if he can stay back there. He does have some skills as a backstop, showing some agility with his strong, powerful frame. It might behoove a team drafting Collins to send him out as a catcher, knowing the bat will likely play elsewhere if it doesn't work out.
This was a writeup on MLB.com on Brett Morales,
A year ago, scouts spent a lot of time at King High School to evaluate Keon Barnum, who ended up going in the supplemental first round to the Chicago White Sox. As a byproduct, they got to see Morales pitch quite a bit and they liked what they saw, especially considering it was the first year the right-hander was pitching regularly. He's a little more raw than some prep pitchers from Florida, but he has a very quick arm, one that throws a fastball in the 92-94 mph range. He's not the biggest guy in the world, but the arm strength and clean delivery might allow some to look past that. His secondary stuff is still a work in progress and a lack of a breaking ball kept him from climbing into the upper echelons of the high school pitching crop.

Benintendi on his signability: In 2011
PBR: The 2013 Major League Draft is a couple years off. But, if you happen to be in a situation that allows you to decide between college and professional baseball, what will you do? Will you consider the professional route? What factors will be important for you?
Benintendi: Well, I feel a little embarrassed in answering this question. I feel lucky to be a Division I recruit. I share the same dream as most boys that play baseball. In order to be drafted out of high school, I have such a long way to go. There are so many quality players around the country. I will continue to work at my game and we will see where I am in June 2013. For me to forego college, I would have to be offered alot of money. If not, I plan to have a great time at Arkansas.
