Why in the hell would you bunt there?

It hurt Joey last year (at third base, no less) and I think he's still a bit gunshy about it at times.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Votto and Speier were both lazy on that, but Votto started slowing down way too early.

I sure hope Dusty is smart enough to have someone getting loose. Bronson may have been about done even before the ball off the knee.

That is a garbage call there on the strike.

On Joey, he saw the ball fielded before he turned. 3B coach didn't really help. It's both their fault. They both screwed up. He has to slide there

We look like a freakin' Little League team. Making the third out at third base (while not sliding). Bunting with two outs. This is textbook baseball!

I would not forgive that --- because I think it's lucky Votto didn't try a last second awkward slide that ended up as an injury.

I'm hopeful Arroyo can get through this inning (from a pitching point of view), he was starting to get hit hard. Five innings of two run ball out of him against St. Louis is fine by me.
This is the ol Left Hander rounding third and heading for home.

I wonder if Votto didn't slide because somewhere in the back of his mind is the knee injury.

Ryan Hanigan had a little hot streak when he first came off the disabled list but otherwise he has nearly been an automatic out this season.

Hurt Votto's knee pretty bad last year. It was Speirs fault though, he was just standing there, no indication to slide or that the ball was coming.

Dusty said Spier didn't tell Joey to slide.
