They showed a stat earlier that they were hitting .263 without RISP. The RISP stat won't continue, but we may be so far back it doesn't matter. These next 10 games are crucial.

    Amazing.
You do realize that at some point relievers not named Chapman are going to have to get big outs for us, right? If he's all we can rely on down there then it's not like it matters in the long run.

Alright I'm as pissed as anyone about this game but some of you that are willing to concede the season to The Cardinals need to take a step back from the ledge.

Remember when The Cardinals swept The Reds back in August of 2010 and the season was over and The Reds missed the playoffs? Baseball is a long season. You're going to go through slumps.

Yes,, The Cardinals look unbeatable right now but they can't maintain this pace forever and The Reds are not as bad as they have looked lately.

That being said, this game stunk. Not one of Dusty's finer games.

They are hitting .340 bc everybody in their lineup is a threat. I initially thought they were lucky but after watching their approach at the plate it is easy to see why they hit so well.

Good point, I never thought of that. Particularly when you consider most of these complainers wanted Chapman to start and Hoover /Broxton to be the closer.

Reds would lose anyway due to the Cardinals being simply better.

But you are correct. Strategical moves like that in an extra inning game are baseball 101 and Dusty fails every time.

And that's the game. Well, this was just a disappointing game. Thank goodness we were at least able to get that win yesterday and not get completely swept.

My God the Reds are 37-26! People have to stop acting like they're been bad this year.

If the Cardinals win 105 games (the pace they're on now), the Reds are likely not going to win the division.

The Cardinals aren't going to win 105 games.

What a deflating loss. Everyone sees the gap in these two teams right now. It's the bullpen and it's a persistent approach to offense.

That said, NOBODY is better than the Cardinals right now. Tough to deal with, especially in the arc of the franchise at the moment. It does provide an opportunity to grow and get better, although there are a lot of answers that need to come from within.

Barring an additional rash of injuries in addition to what they've already weathered, I think I've seen the best team in baseball this series.

Cardinals are way better than the Reds. And I don't them losing steam any time soon. That offense is for real. Every hitter has a great approach. The starting pitching is superb. And they've fixed their bullpen issues with Rosenthal and Mujica. Cardinals are for real.

And June is a tough month for the Reds. Wouldn't surprise me to see the Reds 7 to 10 back by July 1.

And pretty much 80% of the league is better than the 2006 team.
