Hannahan grounds to the GG winner Darwin Barney who makes a fantastically routine play, one out.

Now it's Hanigan who, the Reds say, is beat up with bumps and bruises. Give him more rest, I say, let Mes have some games.

0-2 on Ryan now, righty reliever for the Cubs. Ryan bounces to first.

Pitcher up now, so it looks like a quick inning for the Reds. Nothing across.

Excellent PbP. Next you'll be doing "Ask Marty."

Bottom seven. Cubs up down four runs. Bottom of the Cubs order coming up.

Castro leads it off. 1-2 count. 92 pitches for Homer. Castro fouling them off. Castro running up the pitch count with fouls. Thom overstating Castro's slump this year. Another foul. He's had a bad year, but not that bad. 4-3, one out, easy bounder to BP.

So now we get Darwin Gold Glove Barney who grounds out to Votto, nice play, 100 pitches for Homer. Two outs.

Lefty hitter up now, presumably a PH. Julio Borbon. 1-1 count. Blake Parker in the bullpen. Neither have I. 1-2 on Borbon. Wonder if Clay Carroll is the next hitter. Or Eastwick.

Borbon strikes out and Homer has 8 Ks. Eighth inning coming up.

I can't stand people not following the RZ "company line"?

    Me?

    Really?

Same here. It'd be nice to see a couple more runs from the Reds, just to really wrap this thing up, but hopefully we just get things done and get the win.

Bailey's been quite good around first base tonight.

Bailey with a strikeout to end the inning, and we go to the eighth.

Some guy got busted for having a girlfriend. They flew her in and she confronted the guy. It was hysterically dysfunctional. The squirming and weaseling was titanic. I laughed. He's sleeping with the fishes tonight.

Yeah, "Ask KC61." Has a nice ring to it.

Typical Reds lead, offense is sleeping. Eighth inning. Parker is the pitcher. 0.00 ERA. We'll show him.

Choo is up. Bounces sharply to second for the out. First pitch swinging, not a RedsZone favorite.

Barney has zero errors this year. Uh. Oh.

Cozart now up. He is hitting SECOND in this game. That's right. 1-1 count.

Cozart with a base hit to left. First Reds hit since the fourth inning says Thom and I believe him.

Votto up now. 2-0 count. Joey walks and now BP is up with two men on.

Is that scoreboard correct? Blue Jays have scored twice but are hitless?

Votto really stunk there. Totally blew an RBI opportunity. Dude needs to do his job.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Votto takes ball four and it's first and second. See if we can't get something going here.
