    We're still good.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Nothing like beefing up the stats on a sub .500 team. I'll take it!

Jim Day just said in the postgame that the Reds are 24-3 when Xavier Paul starts.

As impossible as it seems, my man Dusty is now even cooler with the batting gloves!

Isn't there a thread about red heads in the major leagues......or why aren't there any or something like that?

Someone add Partch to that conversation.

Not many things scarier than a redhead with crazy facial hair like that.

They need to send Lutz down. Bring up a RH bat ...so that Paul can bat 2nd and then be PH for when that dread LHP comes in....since we all know it will happen. This is on Walt more than Dusty for NOT having a RH bat on the bench.

Oh yeah... Go Reds. Great win.

I would have kept Rodriguez and sent Lutz down (as a switch-hitter, Henry would serve as both a LH snd RH hitter off the bench). This would have left Robinson as the only backup OF off the bench (and current platoon partner for Paul), but with the addition of Rodriguez along with Hannahan (and even Izturis) as depth at 3B, Frazier could be used as the emergency 5th OF.

Heisey will eventually serve as the RH counterpart to Paul when he comes off the DL, though I certainly wouldn't be opposed to upgrading that spot. (Marlon Byrd would look good in Red, and is the type of OF Walt has acquired and had success with in the past.)

They really move at a glacial pace to upgrade the roster. They have available help at AAA...that is better than Lutz, right now (Who I like for the future) and Cesar...obviously.
