    Minor League Updates: Tuesday 6/11/2013

Let's get started with Louisville. They are hosting the Durham Bulls tonight.

Chad Reineke started and is getting roughed up to the tune of four runs in four innings of work.

Louisville was shut out through three but has just delivered a six-pack for the enjoyment of Bats' fans everywhere. The key blow was a bases-juiced big fly off the bat of Neftali Soto.
Hessman singled, Jason Donald walked and Nevin Ashley walked to load them up. Negron's walk pushed across the first run. Billy Hamilton's force out brought home run number two. Hamilton promptly stole second (38). Fellhauer took one for the team to reload the bases. Soto's bomb (7) brought everyone around to score.

    Louisville is on top 6-4.

    Pensacola is at Mississippi.

Josh Smith is working and has allowed two runs (one earned) in two innings.

Pensacola jumped out to a 1-zip lead in the first. Bryson Smith singled and crossed the plate on a single by Tucker Barnhart.

Mississippi 2 Pensacola 1 after two full.

Dayton hosts the Bowling Green Hot Rods.

Wild Ismael Guillon showed up tonight. In two innings on the mound he has given up three hits, walked three and mixed in a couple of wild pitches. Surprisingly, only two runs were scored and one of them was unearned.

Dayton went down 1-2-3 in their only time at bat.

    DSL Rojos won 4-1.

Warlin Pena pitched six innings of one-hit ball. He did allow a run and walked five while striking out four. Mateo, Encarnacion and Guzman all chipped in with a scoreless frame each.

Luis Gonzalez tripled, scored twice and had two base hits. Ismael Nunez stroked a pair of singles. And everyone's favorite - Yoel Noel - went yard.

Louisville holds on by a count of 8-5.

Jumbo Diaz went two hitless, scoreless innings in relief. Lee Hyde made his AAA debut and retired the only batter he faced.

Billy Hamilton went 1-5, scored twice, drove in a run, stole three bases (40).
Soto had the salami, thank you.
Hessman two singles, one of which started the six-run rally.
Kris Negron went 1-2, a bomb, and walked twice. Good bye Norma Jean Izturis if you ask me.

    Bats 8 Bulls 5.

Dayton pitchers took on the chin, allowing 14 runs on 20 hits. Guillon, Mugarian and Peralta all had a hand in the pitching debacle.

Zach Vincej, a man of many streaks, continues on a hot one. He double and tripled. Joe Terry singled. twice.

DSL Reds suffer a 7-2 defeat.

Every DSL Red that took to the bump allowed runs to cross the plate. 'Nuf said.

Geraldo Valor and Raynar Guerrero each singled twice. Jose Siri singled in four trips.

Guerrero, a first baseman, made two errors, giving him four on the year. Yikes!
Jose Siri, a centerfielder, threw a runner out at the plate.

Bakersfield is hosting Visalia and the tacos are going down hard. Blaze trails in this one 7-1 after 7.

Carlos Contreras started and just four: 4IP 4H 2R 2ER 2BB 5K. Carlos Gonzalez went two plus and along with Pat Doyle gave up four runs in the seventh to bust things wide open.

Yorman Rodriguez has singled and doubled and scored the lone Blaze run so far. Chris Berset has a pair of singles. Steve Selsky is 0-1 but has reached first twice the hard way. Visalia starter plunked Selsky twice. He, obviously, needs to grow the hell up.

    Bakersfield eventually fell 9-3.

Kyle McMyne got ripped for two runs in the eighth. Jamie Walczak pitched a perfect ninth, striking out two. Relievers are at a disadvantage as far as the MiPOTD is concerned. But cumulatively, since coming to Bakersfield, Walczak has posted this line: 8IP 1H 0R 0ER 0BB 7K. He allowed a single to the first batter he faced and now has set down 24 in a row.

Juan Perez ended up going 2-4 Chris Berset was 3-4. His second consective three-hit effort.
