My quote was that this inning they would have better at-bats. They did. Enough said.

Really? The Reds are second in the NL vs LHP and I get no love for pointing it out?

    I'm needy. Love me.

Perhaps I should mention that Travis Wood has a QUALITY START going....

Well Wood has four losses, doesn't he, he must have given up something.

Although this Cubs team could lose with Walter Johnson pitching.

Phillips really is focused on those RBIs, really having a great year.

I just checked. 10 game streak including his final one last year. Lame streak...yeah, but this IS the Cubs we're talking about.

The streak was 9 games and was ended by the Reds. It was the longest streak by a Cubs starter to open a season since Brown- not all starts but to open a season.

Today’s performance was Wood’s ninth consecutive quality start dating back to the beginning of the season, which is the longest streak of consecutive quality starts to begin a season in modern Cubs history. The last starter with a longer streak was Mordecai “Three-Finger” Brown all the way back in 1908 (yeah, that year) when he had eleven consecutive (complete game) quality starts.
Looks like their record since 1918 is 11

On May 19 2013, Travis Wood became the first Cub since Mordecai Brown to start a season with 9 straight quality starts.

    Love it.

But, you know, it still hasn't been an offensive onslaught today.

Now last night, that was a lineup.
