    Minor League Updates: Sunday 6/16/2013

Louisville at Norfolk. Bats are going for their fifth straight win.

Chad Reineke is in the process of twirling a gem. Five scoreless innings in the books so far.

Billy Hamilton led off the game with his 4th dinger. That is the sum total of the scoring.

    Louisville leads 1-zip after five.

Reineke finished after six: 6IP 3H 0R 0ER 3BB 4K. Arredondo comes on in the seventh. Billy Hamilton adds a single and stolen base number 43. That is his 13th straight successful steal. He is 43-50 so far in 2013, a pretty impressive 86%.

Arredondo with a scoreless frame. A hit and a strike out. Zach Duke on the mound now. Nick Christiani gets the save.

Hamilton 2-4, single, home run, run scored, run driven in, stolen base (43).

    Dayton at South Bend.

Good Ismael Guillon has shown up through two. It is early but encouraging. No walks, no wild pitches, no baserunners, no nothing.

Pigott and Diaz have singles. Junior Arias has blasted a triple.

    No score through two full.

Pigott with a single to center. Diaz adds a bunt single. A double steal combined with an error and there you go, Dayton is on the board 1-0. Winker just threw out a runner at the plate to preserve the 1-run lead. Nice to see.

Still 1-0 going into the bottom of the sixth. Ismael Guillon still dominating. 1BB 6K in five full. Final line: 6IP 3H 0R 0ER 2BB 7K. In Guillon's last five trips to the mound: 23.2IP 13H 6R 5ER 21K 1.90 ERA. Unfortunately, 17BB.

A walk to Joe Terry and singles by Arias and Vincej provide the Dragons with a two-run cushion heading into the bottom of the ninth.

Amezcua and Klimesh with shutout innings of work. Sean Lucas will try to save it. Lucas puts the tying runs on base but gets the job done. Save number ten.

Two hits by Pigott, Diaz, Arias and Vincej.

Lucas has some nice numbers to the start of his career.

Dayton 2 South Bend (of a north bound horse?) 0.

Corky Miller at 1B in this game.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Hessman with a day off. Soto hasn't played since 6/11 (Tuesday). He hit a salami on Tuesday. No idea if he is hurt or what.

That ended up being the sum total of the scoring. Louisville wins 1-0. Billy with a new career high in HR.

And more importantly it breaks the tie that he had with walks and home runs on the year.

Now with 6 home runs and 5 walks.

I like it. That is a Juan-derful lineup. It's Father's Day. I get one bad pun.

Hamilton demonstrating some semblance of power is key to him getting some walks as he gets to the majors.
